Thank you for your letter of 8th February

(92710/32) about Mr. Russell Brown's pension.

We have reached the conclusion that the Colonial

Office's second thoughts are best, and that the

Wei-hai-Wei service must be regarded as pensionable.

We

are therefore authorising payment to him from the Colonial

and Middle Eastern Vote of £149. 10. 3.

This sum is

arrived at as follows:-

Amount of additional allowance payable on all service, including Wei-hai-Wei period

Already awarded excluding Wei-hai-Wei period.
